A question not really sufficiently advanced for the Mathematics section, and I don't think there is a forum for economics.I saw a good graph once of the cost of a vulnerability vs. the cost of mitigating it - both were linear and one rising, one descending. I'm not sure what the axes represented to translate cost into lines. Then you divided one by the other so they got a hyperbole in between them. The tangent at the lowest point of the hyperbole would then represent the ideal total cost to spend with acceptable risk. Sort of a break even between known risks and paying for security.Has anyone seen this and perhaps a little more about estimating the numbers? This looks like a good model for communicating between techs and economists. --Wpks 08:12, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply[reply]
